The cabin sleeps two: one bedroom with a wall of glass onto the land, a bath with a walk-in shower, and a deck for the evening. Walk the creek at first light, take the trails through the hills in the afternoon, and watch the stars come up over the fields.
You will have company of a kind. Deer play in the fields, large groups of turkeys move through, and our cows rotate pastures across the year. In the fall you can hear the coyotes that live down on the creek howling after dark. It is not a hotel and we do not run it like one. We open it occasionally, to one couple at a time, when the land and the calendar allow. To stay, reach out.

- Can we rent a cabin on a ranch near Austin?
- There is one cabin at Lazy Dog Ranch, built for two, on 80 private acres in Liberty Hill, 40 minutes from Austin. It is lent occasionally, by request, and is not listed on booking sites.
- What is in the cabin?
- One bedroom, one bath, a kitchen and a covered porch that faces the sunset. The rest of the ranch is outside the door.
- How many people can stay?
- Two. One couple at a time.
- Can we swim in the creek?
- When it is running, yes. The creek depends on the season and recent rain.
- Is it really dark at night?
- Yes. Liberty Hill is a certified International Dark Sky Community and the ranch sits well away from town lights.
- Is there housekeeping or food?
- No. You have the cabin and the land to yourselves. Bring what you need for your stay.
- How far is the cabin from Austin?
- About 40 minutes from downtown Austin and 35 miles, about 40 minutes, from Austin-Bergstrom airport. The cabin is at 1530 County Road 284, Liberty Hill, TX 78642, with paved road to the gate.
