Drones and filming are allowed across the entire property, vehicles can be driven anywhere on it, and with our tractors we can create scenes as a production needs them.

- Can I rent a ranch near Austin for a car commercial?
- Yes. Lazy Dog Ranch is an 80-acre working ranch 40 minutes from Austin, with trails, creek beds, open fields and live oaks that suit automotive work. It is available occasionally, upon request, to one production at a time.
- Is the ranch available as a filming location for other productions?
- Yes. Commercials, editorial, music, fashion, documentary and personal projects are all considered. Tell us what you are making and when.
- Can we run drones?
- Yes, across the entire property. Aerial work over the trails, the creek and the pasture is welcome.
- What does the location look like?
- Hill Country: a creek with limestone banks, big live oaks, open fields, pasture, woods, cattle and wildlife. There is a west-facing ridge for sunset and very dark skies at night.
- What is on site for a crew?
- Water and power at the cabin and hard standing near the gate. Anything else a production needs, you bring.
- Can we film at night?
- Yes. Liberty Hill is a certified International Dark Sky Community, so night and astro work is possible without light pollution.
- How large a crew can the ranch take?
- Crew size is flexible. Eighty acres gives a full production room to spread out, and hard standing near the gate takes the trucks.
- Do you sign NDAs?
- Yes, whenever asked. Unannounced products and unreleased vehicles have been here before, and discretion is part of how the ranch works.
- How far is the ranch from Austin-Bergstrom airport?
- 35 miles, about 40 minutes by road, and about 40 minutes from downtown Austin. Paved road for trucks and motorhomes to the gate at 1530 County Road 284, Liberty Hill.
